On the 22nd April 2007, at the early hour of 04.00, a 53 seater coach from Coach Holiday Warehouse Company, picked up Ouse Valley River Club members and friends outside WH Peacocks in St Neots - Destination Southern Ireland.

Armed with passports, luggage and enough Euros to last us a week we departed St Neots in a jolly mood. We arrived at Fishguard, Wales in good time to catch the 14.30 Stena ferry. After a calm crossing over the St Georges channel we arrived Rosslare 18.00. The first night was spent in The Grand Hotel, Tramore, where dinner was served at 20.30. After a long day travelling an early night was very welcome.

Ballyheigue Castle Monday 23rd April

We departed Tramore after breakfast making for Bally Heigue on the western coast of Southern Ireland, stopping off at the Blarney Woollen Mill on route. Arriving at The White Sands Hotel, Bally Heigue late afternoon for four nights stay.

Tuesday 24th April

After breakfast we departed for a full days tour of the Dingle Peninsular with our Irish Guide and then shopping in Tralee. We then returned to The White Sands Hotel for our evening meal and entertainment by an Irish guitarist.

Wednesday 25th April

Another full day ahead with a tour of the Ring of Kerry with an Irish guide, viewing the spectacular scenery. Then returned to Bally Heigue for dinner and similar entertainment in the evening.

Thursday 26th April

A more leisurely day today with two short excursions to Ballybunion and Listowel, then back to the hotel for the rest of the afternoon to relax or walk on the beach. Dinner and entertainment.

Park Plaza Friday 27th April

We departed Ballyheigue and travelled across the Republic to Dublin with a short stop at Adare, a small but pretty town. Met the guide in the afternoon for a two hour tour of the lovely city of Dublin. Then onto our final hotel, the very modern Park Plaza Hotel on the outskirts of Dublin, for a luxurious night stay.

Park Plaza Saturday 28th April

After an early breakfast we departed the Park Plaza and made for Dun Laoghaire port for the 11.10 H.S.S. fast ferry across the Irish Sea. We arrived Holyhead port 13.00 a very good crossing, and journeyed back through Wales, a picturesque and comfortable journey to St Neots, arrived at The Ouse Valley River Club 19.45.

The holiday was a great success, everyone enjoyed the experience and the Guinness, a lot of fun was had together as a group.
